RAV AntiVirus for Samba (s 390)

January 11th, 2003
Publisher's description

When an infected or suspicious file is found while working on the Samba partition, the on access scanner performs customizable actions, cleaning, blocking or deleting the file. For problematic files (files on which the scanning procedure is too long or scanning process crashes), RAV AntiVirus for Samba can be configured to block/ignore that file. RAV AntiVirus for Samba is completely configurable using command lines, and runs as a service, thus being effective but unobtrusive.
Due to integration of a cutting edge technology named total platform independence, RAV engine detects all malwares, be it for Windows, Linux or other OS. This is very important, never mind useful, especially when Samba shares are used on a file server, running UNIX in a network with Windows users. Completely configurable using command lines, the antivirus provided by GeCAD Software runs as a service, and is designed to use an internal cache for recently used files, technology that increases speed when the on access scan is performed. Speed is also optimized due to the Integrity Checker technology within the engine that increases the detection speed with more than 50%.
